摘要: Soil solution concentrations of allelopathic agents (e.g., phenolic acids) estimated by soil extractions differ with extraction procedure and the activities various sinks microbes, clays, organic matter). This led to hypothesis that root uptake acids is a better estimator dose than based on extracts. was tested determining inhibition net phosphorus cucumber seedlings treated for 5 hr ferulic acid in whole-root split-root nutrient culture systems. Experiments were conducted 11 ranging from 0 1 mM, 0.25, 0.5, or pH values 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 applied when 9, 12, 15 days old. The initial concentration regressed uptake. Attempts made design experiments would break collinearity between original rejected because surrounding seedling roots more frequently consistently related these roots. data suggest contact, not uptake, responsible inhibitory activity acids.
