摘要: Osmotic shock is a procedure in which Gram-negative bacteria are treated as follows. First they suspended 0.5 M sucrose containing ethylenediaminetetraacetate. After removal of the by centrifugation, pellet cells rapidly dispersed cold, very dilute, MgCl2. This causes selective release group hydrolytic enzymes. In addition, there certain binding proteins. So far, proteins for D-galactose, L-leucine, and inorganic sulfate have been discovered purified. The form reversible complex with substrate but catalyze no chemical change, enzymatic activities detected. Various lines evidence suggest that may play role active transport: ( ) osmotic large drop transport activity associated protein; b transport-negative mutants found lack corresponding c affinity constants similar; d repression leucine was accompanied loss protein. enzymes released appear to be located cell envelope. Glucose 6-phosphate acts an inducer its own system when supplied exogenously, not generated endogenously from glucose.
