摘要: Preoperative radiation therapy (PRT) prior to potential curative resection for rectal adenocarcinoma is not widely accepted. This report evaluates the prognostic factors affecting local recurrence and 5-year survival. a retrospective study of 214 patients with primary treated from January 1986 December 1994. A PRT dosage 45 Gy in 20 fractions was administered clinically tethered or fixed tumors, 4 8 weeks later surgery performed (group I). Patients mobile tumors were by alone II). There 130 men 84 women. The median age 58 years (range 19–85 years). 111 group I: 7 had no microscopic residual tumor, 80 Dukes' B, 24 C. 103 II: 70 classified as B 33 mean follow-up entire cohort 62 months 2–132 months). Local seen 17% I 35% II (p= 0.002). Distant metastatic lymph nodes 79% 34% 0.001). favorable control administration well differentiated cancer. survival < 50 absence node metastasis. diminishes risk recurrence. presence postirradiated specimen an ominous factor Therefore such should be considered adjuvant chemotherapy.
