摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the recent research and development of carbon nanotube (CNT)/epoxy structural composites that hold interest for military applications, along with some discussions on component materials, structure-property characterization. Carbon is great engineering importance because its ability to exist in many forms. Depending how atoms are arranged, their properties vary, this reason, found applications platforms. CNTs may be viewed as a graphite sheet rolled up into nanoscale tube form. exhibit high surface area per unit weight, electrical thermal conductivity, good mechanical properties. Epoxy known withstand temperatures, chemical corrosion resistance, tensile strength, modulus adhesion, low cure shrinkage. Composites made from epoxy have potential exceptional mechanical, electrical, properties, which characteristics individual components synergetic effects. One major ongoing improving interfacial nanocomposites through modifications realize ultimate predicted by theoretical models.
