摘要: This paper deals with the first records of interactions between Italian red squirrel ( Sciurus vulgaris italicus ) and introduced parakeets. We observed two nest predations exerted by squirrels upon rose-ringed parakeet Psittacula krameri chicks in Latium, while an adult Barraband’s Polytelis swainsonii was responsible for death Southern Tuscany. To assess extent impact these alien birds on conservation endemic populations, further research is needed. These observations highlight complex that may arise native species, supporting active monitoring management populations should be a priority. Download complete issue.
