摘要: The conventional treatment of anterior crossbites has been the application orthopedic force to mandible redirect its growth. However, in patient with an underdeveloped maxilla, this alone is not sufficient. Therefore, purpose investigation was study effects maxillary protraction appliances crossbites. A three-dimensional anatomic model a human skull fabricated birefringent materials for photoelastic analysis. Three that utilized different anchorage units were used. forces placed on these parallel occlusal plane, downward vector 20 degrees and combination two vectors. resulting stress patterns observed. produced by three transmitted maxilla distant craniofacial structures. Both traction pull plane caused constriction portion maxilla. counterclockwise (opening) rotation molar tooth palatal plane. decreased effect.
