Pathway to achieving sustainable food security in Sub‐Saharan Africa: The role of agricultural mechanization

摘要: According to the World Health Organization (2020), many parts of world have demonstrated potentials for acute hunger and famine. Many countries in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) actively feature this category due geopolitical crises other humanitarian challenges. Despite efforts by SSA governments, agricultural productivity continues be inadequate meeting nutritional needs across Africa. Thus, presence economic expansion, vast land labour resources, study investigates role mechanization as an important factor increased SSA. Data on 25 over 17 years is used. Empirical results from System Generalized Method Moments show that among variables, a significant influencing productivity. Consequently, light bid higher productivity, government investment becomes priority. Also, apart fact African are at point where more must brought under development satisfy expanded market needs, larger investments appear imperative.
