摘要: Background Obesity and arterial stiffness are associated, but fat distribution patterns may be more strongly related to than general obesity because of the possible increased inflammation associated with abdominal adiposity. The aims this study were examine whether patterning is stiffness, determine these associations mediated by low-grade inflammation. Methods Adult participants from Fels Longitudinal Study (228 males 254 females) assessed for brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (BaPWV) stiffness. Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry was used estimate percentage trunk legs (e.g., TRUNKFAT% LEGFAT%). High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels assayed as a marker General linear regression analyses used. Results BaPWV positively (r = 0.44 in men r 0.38 women), whereas it inversely LEGFAT% -0.40 -0.39 women). In multiple analyses, each SD increase an ~1.03 m/s both women. Each similar magnitude decrease (1.03 m/s) sexes. relationships attenuated slightly when including hs-CRP models, remained significant. Conclusions We found that leg opposite directions total body adiposity accounted for. However, between regional did not appear
