摘要: Helical tomotherapy (HT) is a novel treatment approach that combines Intensity-Modulate Radiation Therapy (IMRT) delivery with in-built image guidance using megavoltage (MV) CT scanning. The technique utilises 6 MV linear accelerator mounted on type ring gantry. beam collimated to fan beam, which intensity modulated binary multileaf collimator (MLC). As the patient advances slowly through gantry, linac rotates around leaf-opening pattern optimised deliver highly conformal dose distribution target in helical trajectory. unit also allows acquisition of MVCT images same radiation source detuned reduce its effective energy 3.5 MV, making required for imaging less than 3 cGy. This paper discusses major features HT and describes advantages disadvantages this context commercial Hi-ART system.
