摘要: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of disability worldwide. Additionally, many TBI patients are intoxicated with alcohol at the time injury, but impact acute intoxication on recovery from not well understood. We have previously found that binge prior to impairs spontaneous functional sensorimotor recovery. However, whether administration in this setting affects reactive neurogenesis after known. This study therefore sought determine short and long term effects pre-TBI neural precursor cell responses subventricular zone (SVZ) following male rats. alone significantly increased proliferation SVZ as early 24 hours injury. Surprisingly, also hours. combined regimen resulted decreased TBI-induced 1 week post-TBI. Furthermore, 6 weeks TBI, administered neuroblast response rostral migratory stream (RMS). The results suggest negatively impacts reparative processes by decreasing short-term proliferative long-term neuroblasts RMS.
