摘要: The subventricular zone (SVZ) bordering the lateral ventricle is one of few regions adult brain that contains dividing cells. These cells can differentiate into neurons in vivo after migration olfactory bulb and vitro presence appropriate growth factors. Little known, however, about fate these injury adults. We examined cell number expression differentiation markers SVZ rats cortical lesions. Aspiration lesions sensorimotor cortex induced a transient doubling at level striatum without consistent increases bromodeoxyuridine-labeled Immunoreactivity to polysialylated neural adhesion molecule, expressed by majority during development, increased dramatically lesion. In contrast, immunolabeling for molecules found mature glia did not increase lesion, immunoreactivity factors induce decreased or remained undetectable, suggesting lack factor may contribute newly accumulated vivo. data reveal are capable plasticity rat retain characteristics seen development. © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
