摘要: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF), a precancerous condition of the oral cavity, has been studied by number workers in field. The available epidemiological data showed clear-cut geographical and ethnic predisposition, which suggested that certain customs/habits prevalent among population groups south-east Asia might be possible etiological factors. However, none these customs was shown to causally linked association many cases 'casual'. This led some consider importance systemic addition effects local factors on mucosa. More research is needed elucidate this problem.
