摘要: Abstract Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a chronic respiratory inflammatory disease. Glycyrrhizin main bioactive component of the licorice root extract and exhibits anti-inflammatory activity. However, role glycyrrhizin in AR has not been studied. The aim present study was to investigate effect on histamine-induced human nasal epithelial cells (HNEpCs). Here, we found that (20 or 40 μM) inhibited mRNA expression secretion mucin 5 subtype AC (MUC5AC), interleukin (IL)-6 IL-8 HNEpCs. levels aquaporin (AQP5) phosphorylated cyclic adenosine monophosphate-responsive element binding protein (p-CREB) were decreased by histamine HNEpCs increased treated with glycyrrhizin. treatment expressions p-NF-κB p65 p-IκBα HNEpCs, indicating activation NF-κB pathway In addition, inhibition exhibited similar summary, results showed reversed MUC5AC expression, cytokine production, AQP5 involved effect. might be used for complementary alternative therapeutics AR.
