摘要: Adult Eisenia fetida were used to vermicompost woodchips (WC) and sewage sludge (SS) that are produced as waste product by platinum mines. The aims of the study examine growth reproductive success worms over 84 days determine long-term feasibility large-scale implementation monitor bioconcentration heavy metals effects microorganisms inoculation quantify possible environmental implications. Results revealed there no on (P>0.05), decreased (P<0.05), aluminum (Al), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni) bioconcentrated (P<0.05) in treatment groups without an inoculate. Earthworms group with microorganism inoculate manifested or did not accumulate Al, Cu, Ni. It is concluded only economically feasible way bioconvert WC SS a potential ameliorant mine tailings would be addition
