摘要: The intermittent and fluctuating nature of output power renewable energy sources (RES) can lead to serious security concerns such as congestion in the transmission system. Incorporating storage devices with RES is technically an effective means mitigate this concern by allowing be stable traditional plants. Storage even more consumer-friendly solution greater control over electricity consumption time price compared e.g. demand-side management which offers limited for end users. It also contribute lower price, peak-shave demand, defer upgrade investments, provide ride-through (momentary) faults, voltage/frequency control, increase share green thus reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions, improve quality reducing harmonic distortions voltage sags/surges, facilitate utilization efficient off-peak generation units, etc. This paper assesses technical applicability economical viability different Belgian network, focusing on structure market. A high-level overview widely-used technologies, their benefits shortcomings are provided.
