Down-regulation of MicroRNA-133 predicts poor overall survival and regulates the growth and invasive abilities in glioma

摘要: miRNAs were reported as oncogene or tumour suppressors in various cancers and played important roles development progression. Dysregulated miR-133 has been several cancers, however, the expression biological function of glioma remained unclear. In this study, we found that level was significantly decreased tissues cell lines by RT-qPCR. Then mimics used to evaluate effects on proliferation invasion vitro. We overexpressed could suppress growth, U87 cells. Additionally, forkhead box C1 (FOXC1) tissue it directly regulated miR-133. Overall, study is first proof demonstrate suppressor inhibit invasioned targeting FOXC1, implying a potential therapeutic target for glioma.
