摘要: Australian governments along with other western countries have made significant changes to the welfare system a focus on encouraging sole parents social security payments move into paid work. This paper reports in-depth interviews 48 about their experiences welfare-to-work process and range of services. Although reported some positive encounters, they also described negative experiences, including how needed repeatedly prove entitlement help, leaving them feel as if were undeserving support. The study has demonstrated that it is often most vulnerable who under close scrutiny work extra hard get help need. These can see disengaging from findings show current policy environment adds complexity parents' lives reinforcing disadvantage.
