摘要: Vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs) are a set of three homologous transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinases that bind vascular factors (VEGFs). VEGFRs expressed throughout the and lymphatic systems by some cells immune nervous systems. Dimeric VEGF binding to VEGFR extracellular domains promotes dimerization mutual subunit transphosphorylation intracellular domains. Specific proteins these phosphotyrosine residues initiating signaling cascade culminates in cellular migration, mitosis, survival promoting blood vessels, respectively, termed ‘angiogenesis’ ‘lymphangiogenesis’. Alternative splicing generates soluble can sequester ligands inhibit activation.
