摘要: Tumors possess many features that differentiate them from normal tissues which can potentially be targeted for therapy. One such difference is the presence of an inefficient vascular network, often unable to meet tumor’s needs. The interaction this faulty system with cells within tumor leads development a unique microenvironment not found in tissues. This particular environment has number distinct as low oxygen concentrations, high interstitial fluid pressures and pH. Previous studies have these microenvironmental conditions potentiates certain adaptive responses by tumor. These adverse consequences, including increased resistance chemo radiotherapy. Nevertheless, since characteristics are most solid types, they profound effect on behavior represent attractive therapeutic targets.
