摘要: A new approach to produce structured optical materials is described. The method relies on the capability of growing eutectic crystals wide band gap by directional solidification procedures. laser float zone technique was used ordered arrays alternate lamellae with thickness order microns erbium doped CaZrO3 and calcia stabilized zirconia single crystals. later, having a higher refractive index, exhibited planar waveguiding effects as it has been proved experimentally. possibility producing waveguides from promises fabrication hundreds integrated into crystal grown at speed several tenths cm/h.
