摘要: Periprosthetic fracture is an uncommon but typically complex complication of cemented THA usually treated operatively. It a source reduced function, subsequent morbidity, and increased mortality. Previous studies may have underestimated the incidence through loss to followup or failure use survivorship methodologies. The primary aim this study was methodology investigate of, risk factors for following arthroplasty. We examined cohort 6458 femoral prostheses implanted during 17-year period. One hundred twenty-four patients sustained fractures at tip below prosthesis. 0.8% 5 years 3.5% 10 after implant. Patients older than 70 had 2.9 times greater sustaining fracture. There no association between gender implant type. These rates are higher those reported arthroplasties. Older should be counseled regarding their periprosthetic fracture, additional research required elucidate biologic mechanisms involved.
