摘要: The focus of this chapter is single-crystal adsorption calorimetry, which used for the direct measurement energies on well-defined surfaces, both single- and poly-crystalline. method was pioneered in 1990s mainly by D.A. King C.T. Campbell based earlier work S. Cerny. Especially recent years, technique has seen increasing proliferation development. In contrast to desorption-based methods, such as temperature-programmed desorption isosteric measurements, calorimetry also well suited irreversible reactions. systems studied range from simple small molecules, CO NO, surface reconstructions, reaction intermediates, hydroxyl group formation, metal diffusion into polymers, particle-size dependent model catalysts even electrochemical reactions electrode surfaces liquid phase.
