摘要: Resurfacing shallow defects over the ankle and foot with an appropriately thin flap is a common but difficult task. This can be accomplished by harvesting medial sural artery perforator from aspect of upper calf. Based on musculocutaneous artery, this preserves gastrocnemius muscle avoids unnecessary bulkiness. Between January 2002 February 2004, we used 2 variants free for reconstruction in 13 patients (10 fasciocutaneous flaps 3 adipofascial flaps). In these patients, skin were combined bone, joint, or tendon exposure. The main advantage that it provides pliable coverage to achieve better accuracy reconstructive site. Other advantages include maintaining function muscle, providing long vascular pedicle, avoiding need sacrifice major arteries leg. disadvantages are tedious process intramuscular retrograde dissection unsightly graft
