摘要: Publisher Summary The chapter presents the quantitative detection of micrometastasis as determined by real-time RT-PCR in peripheral blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and peritoneal washes. evidence to date seems be more convincing for lavage fluids than blood nodes gastrointestinal malignancies. Several methods used detect micrometastases such conventional RT-PCR, rapid are also discussed this chapter. There is increasing suggest that presence has prognostic relevance. Despite accumulating might have an impact on survival relapse rate, there still no consensus about best method compartment detecting In some fields, explorative clinical trials using molecular diagnostic now underway. However, standardized comprehensive all assay steps involved need developed before incorporated into routine practice. Further well-designed prospective randomized necessary will lead improvement treatment malignancies near future. discusses several techniques (such free tumor cells fluids, circulating nodes) its significance.
