摘要: Abstract Objective To examine the implications of varicoceles and nutcracker phenomenon (NcP) in a large cohort adolescent patients. Varicoceles are common males, generating concerns regarding etiology management. At our institution, Doppler ultrasound (US) renal vessels is routinely obtained with goal assessing for an associated phenomenon. Methods Between 1/2000 3/2017, 182 patients clinical were evaluated US. Retrospective assessment provided complete data 137, including maximum varicose vein diameter, testicular measurements, left velocities at hilum impingement point by superior mesenteric artery, procedural interventions. Results NcP was detected 77 (56.2%), who experienced higher venous velocity ratios (8.33 vs 2.87; P 20%, without significant difference based on presence or absence (27.3 30.0%, respectively; P = 0.36). Both groups had similar ages diagnosis, bilateral volume parameters, difference, sizes, follow-up duration (P ≥ 0.05 all). Intervention more likely >20% (P = 0.014). Having not incidence initial (P = 0.59) reoperative surgery (P = 0.73). Conclusion varicocele, but it differences parameters increased frequency surgery. As such, may have few ramifications as isolated finding this patient population, calling into question routine its presence.
