摘要: Background: Levels of arginine associated with clinical outcome in acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Arginine is a protein needed to synthesis nitric oxide (NO), potential vasodilator and antioxidant. Snakehead fish source which has antioxidant activity. contains mineral, vitamin, amino acids. One the acids that were found quite high snakehead extract arginine. The aim this study was done determine effect extracts (SFE) on serum arginin levels AIS patients. Methods: It double-blind randomized pretest-posttest control group design, with. patients divided into two groups i.e. control. SFE administered 15 grams for 7 days . (measured by National Institute Health Stroke Scale = NIHSS) measured before after treatment, other related factors also analyzed Logistic regression. Results: A total 42 subjects who performed random allocation as or group. There no differences subject characteristics between groups. Δ (33.6±19.95 μmol/L; 0.3±2.51 p<0.001). Change NIHSS score improved significantly compared (4.14 ± 2.03; 2.52 1.81;p=0.009 ). regression analysis showed only female gender factor affected improvement (OR=7; p=0,01). Conclusion: Clinical enhancement patient supplementation.
