摘要: The role of bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) in children remains to be defined, and date there has been no standardization acquisition processing the BAL fluid. aim present study was evaluate a standardized protocol for obtaining, processing, analyzing fluid establish reference values healthy children. Eighteen 3 mo 10 yr age were lavaged with three 1-ml/kg aliquots normal saline, using flexible bronchoscope into right middle lobe. first aliquot processed separately; second third pooled. There higher percentage neutrophils epithelial cells aliquot. number total per milliliter (median, Q1 Q3) 60 (45 90) x 10(3)/ml; pooled sample it 155 (75 257) 10(3)/ml.
