摘要: Osmotin, a pathogenesis related (PR) protein belonging to PR-5 family is induced in plants exposed various biotic and abiotic stresses. To evaluate the potential involvement of Osmotin improving resistance early blight potato, transgenic lines an important processing grade potato cultivar ‘Kufri Chipsona 1’ were developed. The integration T-DNA was confirmed by amplification 900 bp DNA fragment (OsmWS) gene. regenerated microshoots subjected GUS assay eight independent putative showing uniform expression reporter gene selected for further assessment. (L1–L8) hardened transferred containment facility. inoculated with spore suspension Alternaria solani over-expressed OsmWS about 22 folds after three days. disease severity also decreased as lesion diameter significantly reduced comparison control 8 days inoculation. Although, variation among observed, yet, all over-expressing showed incidence. As measure plant health, total chlorophyll content osmotic measured. Following infection, higher (160.2 mg/g FW 252.32 FW) recorded (114.48 FW). However, inverse observed terms potential, where infection causes significant decrease some lines. Thus it seems that over-expression have confer certain degree blight. Induced cloned from Withania somnifera increased Indian 1’.
