In vivo study indicating loss of intracortical inhibition in tumor‐associated epilepsy

摘要: Transcranial magnetic stimulation was performed in 2 patients with focal motor seizures the right hand caused by a circumscribed tumor process affecting left precentral gyrus. In both cases, paired-pulse transcranial showed loss of intracortical inhibition for interstimulus intervals to 4msec that replaced an enormous facilitation lesioned cortex. The uniform impairment inhibitory mechanisms epileptogenic tumors different histologies suggests common, nonspecific cause tumor-related epileptogenesis.
