The Decision for Male versus Female Sterilization

摘要: 188 couples who were to have either the wife or husband undergo surgical sterilization (86 vasectomies 55 tubal ligations and 47 vaginal hysterectomies) completed questionnaires explain their choice of procedure. Factors covered included reasons for (health vs. contraceptive coitus-related) sources information about it (reading physicians men women) personal influence (friends parents relatives medical personnel) nature husband-and-wife relationships (joint segregated). The only statistically significant finding was that 61% husbands cited coital chose vasectomy whereas 32% those health did. Husbands got more likely read discussed with both women friends as influential than in decision.
