摘要: In young competitive athletes sudden cardiac death frequently occurs as a tragic first manifestation of clinically inapparent underlying structural or electrical disorders. An increased risk may be reflected by typical electrocardiogram (ECG) alterations preceding symptoms but correct interpretation is often challenging due to high prevalence training-related ECG in mimicking such Misinterpretation thus result either unnecessary disqualification from sports continuation despite an extensive diagnostic work-ups yielding additional equivocal findings. However, observed large athlete cohorts recent years variety alterations, isolated QRS voltage, early repolarization, sinus bradycardia, degree AV block incomplete right bundle branch block, represent common variants ECGs reflecting physiological and adaptations. These do not usually require further evaluation. contrast, repolarization abnormalities, complete prolonged QT intervals pathological Q waves, are strongly suggestive disorders evaluation even asymptomatic athletes. Thus, the plays pivotal role prevention The present article summarizes current recommendations for regarding differentiation between adaptation.
