摘要: Oxygenates such as C 1 to 4 alcohols and ethers like methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) tert-amyl (TAME) are being used octane boosters in motor gasoline. A quick accurate method using H NMR spectroscopy has been developed for their estimation based on group molecular weight (GMW) calculations. This involves the identification quantitation of oxygenates from respective α carbon (RO) resonating chemical shift region 3.0-4.4 ppm, which is free gasoline resonances. The relative GMW aromatics (6.5-7.5 2.1-3.0 ppm), olefins (4.5-6.5 (3.0-4.4 saturates (0.6-2.1 ppm) have calculated integral values regions. percentage each oxygenate determined total sample present straight-run (SR) fluid catalytic cracked (FCC) gasolines. also found be applicable samples containing mixtures oxygenates.
