摘要: Despite over 60 years of research on leadership, few attempts have been made to ensure that the models leadership are inclusive women or other ‘outsiders’. This paper explores variation in constructions at a time institutional change higher education. Drawing purposive sample, including those presidential/rector, vice presidential/vice rector level Irish and Portuguese universities, it compares contrasts such senior managers' conceptions as reflected their descriptions typical president/rector characteristics they see valued management own university. Attention is particularly focussed identification gendering collegial/managerial characteristics, extent which reflects these university contexts.
