Synthesis and characterization of semiorganic sodium hydrogen maleate trihydrate (SHMT) single crystal: A third-order nonlinear optical material

摘要: Abstract Single crystals of semiorganic sodium hydrogen maleate trihydrate (SHMT) were effectively grown from deionized water by solvent evaporation technique. The subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction know the precise information about crystallographic structure. SHMT belongs triclinic system with centrosymmetric space group P-1. TGA/DTA analysis indicates that was thermally stable up 249.6 °C. UV–Visible spectrum revealed its high transparency nature and cut off wavelength found be at 290 nm. Its mechanical behavior assessed Vickers microhardness measurements. Dielectric measurements made over a wide range frequency (50 Hz–1 MHz) room temperature. Theoretical calculations for polarizability optical constants which are necessary device fabrication. third-order nonlinear parameters derived Z-scan refractive index, absorption coefficient susceptibility values be −5.04112 × 10 −11  cm 2 /W, 1.08717 × 10 −3  cm/W 6.35585 × 10 −7  esu respectively.
