摘要: Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the inheritance and phenotype retinal dysplasia (RD) in American pit bull terrier. Animals Studied A breeding colony established from a single female pure-bred terrier dog with RD. Procedures A RD donated Veterinary Hospital Federal University Parana, Curitiba, Brazil. A condition investigated. Regular ophthalmic examinations fundus photography were performed on three generations offspring founder animal. Some animals additionally studied by optical coherence tomography. Ocular histopathology some colony. Results Fifty-seven produced two affected female. Thirty-two diagnosed showed spectrum severity lesions including multifocal, or geographic developed detachment. Histologic examination demonstrated folds, rosettes, areas The dogs shorter stature than unaffected littermates. Breeding studies suggested trait has an autosomal dominant mode inheritance. DNA testing that negative for known gene mutations canine dwarfism RD. Conclusion This is report novel inherited form affects terriers.
