Short-limbed dwarfism and ocular defects in the Samoyed dog.

摘要: A syndrome of short-limbed dwarfism and ocular defects was found in Samoyed dogs. The most prominent abnormalities were small stature valgus deformity the carpi. Radiographic evidence retarded growth at distal ulnar physis apparent by 12 weeks age. Ocular included cataracts retinal detachment. Family studies limited breeding experiments consistent with an autosomal recessive mode inheritance.
