摘要: BACKGROUND : Chronic sun exposure induces numerous changes in exposed skin ; the most striking histopathologic change is massive accumulation of material with staining characteristics elastin, termed solar elastosis, superficial dermis. Previous studies have identified elastic fibers within areas as well a decrease collagen content. Recently, large chondroitin sulfate (CS) proteoglycan, versican, has been dermis association fibers, and smaller CS decorin, shown to codistribute fibers. Thus, expression these proteoglycans might be expected photoaging may help explain clinical alterations chronically sun-exposed skin. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN Immunohistochemical confocal laser scanning microscopy for versican decorin was performed on paired tissue samples from photoaged non-sun-exposed taken same individuals. To investigate mRNA expression, Northern analysis fibroblast cultures derived explants RESULTS revealed localized abnormally comprising elastosis mid-dermis specimens. Decorin greatly decreased area elastosis. Similarly, were measured cultures, significant increase skin, whereas levels significantly CONCLUSIONS This study provides further evidence close even situation abnormal fiber deposition occurring photodamaged In addition, immunostaining are accompanied by similar gene expression.
