摘要: A 40 kWe Space Thermionic Advanced Reactor‐Compact (STAR‐C) system has been designed in response to evolving Air Force space power requirements. THe resulting nuclear is compact and as overall efficiency of 12.0%. The entire conversion subsystem can be pre‐launch tested at its operating conditions, independently the heat source. System mass, which includes reactor shield, control (PP&C) separation boom optimized 2502 kg. STAR‐C deliver 40.9 a reliability 955 for 10 hears.
