摘要: Objective To report the long-term therapeutic results for patients with conjunctival mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma who were treated intralesional injections of interferon-α (IFN-α). Design Prospective, nonrandomized, interventional case series. Participants Twenty eyes 16 histologically proven MALT in absence systemic disease. Methods Patients given 1 500 000 international units (IU) IFN-α (Roferon-A; Roche s.p.a., Milano, Italy) subconjunctivally inside lesion 3 times weekly 4 weeks. If there was even a minimal response, further cycle IU weeks administered. Main Outcome Measures followed up clinically using slit-lamp examination to determine evidence tumor disappearance or recurrence. In 10 eyes, an incisional biopsy performed 6 months after therapy verify histologic lesion. Results A complete response obtained 15 (75%) at end first treatment, and 5 (25%) cycles. Seventeen (85%) showed no local recurrence median follow-up 65 (range, 15–136 months). Three (15%) demonstrated variable points treatment. One patient stage IIA exhibited progression. Conclusions Local immunotherapy seems be effective lasting treatment method provides alternative radiotherapy lymphomas. Very few transient side effects detected.
