摘要: Urban trees often are subjected to soil and at- mospheric stresses that reduce growth vigor, increase susceptibility insects diseases, cause premature death. Environmental occasionally injure direct- ly, as by freezing, but most injury is caused indirectly in- hibiting essential physiological processes. Water stress par- ticularly important because it so frequent affects many The water can be reduced through prevention of irrigation, postpone- ment development extensive root systems control transpiration, selection with a high tolerance dehydration. More attention should given species individuals the more destructive such deficit, air pollution, unfavorable conditions. This will require cooperative efforts arborists, physiologists, tree breeders.
