摘要: Abstract This research seeks to answer the question, what factors of urban social–ecological system predict survival and growth trees in nonprofit neighborhood tree-planting projects? The Ostrom framework Clark colleagues’ model forest sustainability inform our selection variables four categories system; these are trees, biophysical environment, community, management institutions. We use tree inventory methods collect data on survival, growth, growing environment recently-planted street Indianapolis, IN question. a probit linear regression rate. following positively related success (survival and/or growth): ball-and-burlap or container packaging, visible root flare, good overall condition rating, size project, planting area width, median household income, percent renter occupied homes, resident tenure, prior experience, correct mulching, collective watering strategy. negatively success: caliper at planting, crown dieback, lower trunk damage. Additional measured have less clear connections should be examined further. Given that models including from all generally outperform exclude some components, we recommend future consider holistic systems context ecosystem.
