摘要: The WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX 5 (WOX5) gene encodes the transcription factor, which is one of key regulators maintaining structure and functioning stem cell niche in plant root tips. WOX5 expressed quiescent center apical meristem, preventing differentiation columella initials and, together with SCR, SHR, PLT1, PLT2, participating controlling other meristem. However, details are unclear. protein belongs to WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) family, founder factor WUSCHEL (WUS), shoot WUS diverged from a common ancestor at base angiosperms, resulted specialization niches. structural functional divergence during angiosperm evolution has been poorly addressed. In this review we present systems biology analysis reveal specific features its functioning. For this, performed phylogenetic on 62 publicly available amino acid sequences, integrated published data about expression domain Arabidopsis species role development, summarize results experiments primary secondary targets for factor. possible mechanisms direct indirect regulation were discussed. particular, analyzed promoter regions 30 species. Possible proposed based presence putative binding sites candidate factors conserved regions.
