摘要: This paper presents a preliminary profile of infant feeding practices in peri-urban Amazonian community. A random sample 180 households with at least one child under the age five years were interviewed 1996 as part maternal-child health survey conducted neighborhood Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. Since some had more than five, data collected for total 250 children. The results indicate that initiation breastfeeding is nearly universal, 96.0% women their infants birth. However, many mothers terminate before recommended age.
