摘要: A key problem with solar energy is intermittency: generators produce only when the sun shining, adding to social costs and requiring electricity system operators reoptimize decisions. We develop a method quantify economic value of large-scale renewable energy. estimate model for southeastern Arizona. Not accounting offset carbon dioxide, we find $138.40 per megawatt hour 20 percent generation, which unforecastable intermittency accounts $6.10 overall $46.00. With installation $1.52 watt dioxide $39.00 ton, would be welfare neutral.
