摘要: Background/aim: Transepidermal water loss (TEWL) is one of the most important biophysical parameters for evaluating efficiency human skin barrier. Different approaches exist to measure TEWL. The commonly used methodology consists open chamber diffusion technique in which vapor pressure gradient measured g/h m2 according Fick's law. A typical apparatus Tewameter®. Recently, a portable device – VapoMeter became available with humidity sensor closed chamber. Methods: In present work, compared Tewameter® its applicability assess comparative study including parallel vivo measurements both devices was carried out on forearm skin. Results: It could be concluded that instruments are reliable tools. good correlation between recordings (r=0.503–0.966) found consistent feature measuring higher TEWL values than VapoMeter. Probe pressure, probe temperature and relative were revealed inducing significant differences data outcome. Conclusions: From barrier damage experiments it clear able detect significantly smaller addition, currently not sensitive enough discriminate effects induced by diurnal rhythm fluctuations as function time. On other hand, small handy allows more flexibility protocols in-use performance.
