Carcinoma of the Colon and Rectum—growth Rate

摘要: Twenty-seven carcinomas of the colon or rectum are presented which could retrospectively be measured on radiographs at two separate occasions. The mean diameter tumors first and second investigations was 35 mm (10-90 mm) 65 (30-110 mm), respectively, median interval between these examinations 11 months (4-91 months). linear growth rate 0.083 mm/day (0.008-0.262 mm/day). time for doubling tumor volume 130 days (53-1570 days), assuming a three-dimensional pattern growth. A significant correlation poor differentiation high (greater than equal to 0.1 mm/day) found. It is suggested that observed in this investigation comparison with some previous studies may due large size and, hence, their great risk being malignant already examination.
