摘要: Hunot and Flavell discuss recent findings in Nature by Joza et al. that point to the existence of a new sort cell death. Cell death is required during development an organism remove portions body will not be needed; this usually requires destructive enzymes called caspases perform final demolition cell. But cavitation, early developmental process in mouse embryo death, has now been suggested occur through caspase-independent pathway instead uses mitochondrial protein AIF (apoptosis-inducing factor).
