摘要: ABSTRACTIntroduction: The blood–brain barrier (BBB) possesses an outstanding ability to protect the brain against xenobiotics and potentially poisonous metabolites. Owing this, ATP binding cassette (ABC) export proteins have garnered significant interest in research community. These transport are predominantly localized luminal membrane of microvessels, where they recognize a wide range different substrates them back into blood circulation.Areas covered: This review summarizes recent findings on these proteins, including their expression endothelial cell substrate recognition.
