摘要: Low levels of artemisinin in Artemisia annua is posing serious limitation sustainable supply this drug and ultimately affecting global struggle to cure malaria. The present study explores new ways for higher production through generating somaclonal variant tolerant against salt stress. Here, gamma-rays irradiation a total 13 variants (ASV1 ASV13) were identified. They characterized on the basis morphological traits further molecular characterization was carried out RAPD analysis. Dendrogram, constructed scores, showed six major clusters which ASV12 most distant from control fallen alone last cluster. Based 16 metric examined among wild type, correlation analysis out. In addition, principle component conducted attest results. All statistical suggested as stable A. annua. had content compared type under stress; expression key biosynthetic genes (ADS,CYP71AV1, DBR2 ALDH1) more type. Further SCAR marker (570 bp) linked with high developed tested low yielding lines, F1 F2 progenies. A single band amplified all artemisinin-yielding plants. provides ample possibility cultivation saline soil dual benefit: utilization waste land.
