摘要: Most studies on natural killer (NK) cells and aging have focused overall cell numbers global cytotoxic activity. NK functions are controlled by surface receptors belonging to three major families: immunoglobulin-like (KIRs), cytotoxicity (NCRs), C-type lectins. The expression of these was investigated from childhood through old age in T, NKT- also the CD56(dim) (cytotoxic) CD56(bright) (responsible for cytokine production) subsets. A decrease activating (NKp30 NKp46) observed elderly individuals. KIR increased only subset. Children presented similar results regarding NKp30 KIR, but not NKp46. NKG2D decreased T subjects. Analysis genotype revealed that KIR2DL5 KIR2DS3 were significantly associated with age. Cytotoxic activity preserved age, suggesting increase absolute number CD56(dim), elderly, may represent a compensatory mechanism receptor alterations. This initial study provides framework more this subject, which necessary determine whether changing balance influence susceptibility infectious, inflammatory, neoplastic diseases.
